Jingchu University of technology, located in Jingmen City, Hubei Province, is a provincial public full-time regular undergraduate college. It is one of the first batch of local undergraduate colleges and universities in Hubei Province, and the first batch of leading universities in Hubei Province in 2011 plan. It implements the management system of "jointly constructed by provinces and cities (Jingmen) and dominated by provinces".
Jingchu Institute of technology was approved by the Ministry of education in March 2007. It was formed by the merger of Shayang normal college founded in 1956 and Jingmen vocational and technical college founded in 1984.
According to the official website of the University in December 2019, Jingchu Institute of technology covers an area of more than 2200 mu, with a building area of more than 300000 square meters. It has 16 teaching colleges (departments), with 37 undergraduate majors and 15 specialized specialties, covering 8 disciplines including science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, culture, teaching, management and arts. The school has more than 1100 staff, including 765 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, there are 293 professors, associate professors and other senior titles, and 508 doctors and masters. There are 5 experts who enjoy the special allowance of the State Council and Hubei provincial government, and 18 qualified personnel in Jingmen City. There are more than 15000 full-time ordinary students.
